Job Description

American Welding and Gas, Inc. ("AWG") has an immediate opportunity for a Class B Delivery Driver in Merrillville, IN. This position requires a Class B CDL with HazMat &Tanker endorsements.

  Bulk Delivery Driver Duties:

• Responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering CO2 and cryogenic liquids in transport tankers and/or cryogenic vessels
• Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently 
• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ensure compliance with CGMP, Hazmat, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies
• Ensure appropriate preparation, completion, and accuracy of paperwork
• Ensure vehicles are appropriately placarded and/or labeled
• Perform pre-inspection of the vehicle and report any problems to the manager
• Maintain electronic trip logs
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle
• Overnight trips may be required
• Other duties as assigned

  Qualifications & Education Requirements:

• CDL Class B license with HazMat & Tanker endorsements
• Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen and physical, and company-administered road test
• Delivery experience is a plus
• High school diploma/GED
• Clean driving record 3+ years
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds
• Good customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be comfortable using computers
