Job Description



This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:
International SOS is looking for an individual who is experienced as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia to surgical patients for a variety of operations and/or procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of general anesthesia monitored anesthesia care and Bier blocks. No epidurals, spinal, or other nerve block techniques are required.
  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative evaluations to assess patient medical history, physical condition, and anesthesia risks.
  • Review laboratory results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic information to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
  • Obtain, prepare, and use all equipment, monitors, supplies, and drugs used for the administration of aesthesia.
  • Performing and ordering safety checks as needed.
  • Administer various forms of anesthesia, including general, regional, and MAC, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids and blood products necessary to manage anesthetics.
  • Perform and manage Bier Blocks.
  • Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and anesthesia depth during procedures.
  • Manage airway and respiratory support as necessary throughout the surgical process.
  • Leading resuscitative efforts until a physician can take over efforts.
  • Insert peripheral venous catheters.
  • Provide appropriate non-invasive monitoring modalities utilizing current standards and techniques.
  • Provide care in the post-anesthesia recovery unit, monitoring patients’ recovery.
  • Management of post-operative pain.
  • Assess and manage any immediate postoperative complications or side effects related to anesthesia.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in Mortality and Morbidity committee when part of care team of patient needing review.
  • Participate in peer review and audits.

Qualifications



Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Two (2) years' experience within the last ten years required. 
  • Full and unrestricted license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. 
  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to relocate to project site for the duration of the contract.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance. 

Additional Information



Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. 

Compensation| Min: $166,000 Max: $246,000

Benefits – Full-time positions are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
