What You'll Do:

Identify and evaluate potential organ, tissue, and eye donor referrals.
Collect and interpret patient medical and social history information.
Triage donor referral calls and contact appropriate team members as needed.
Accurately complete all required documentation.
Determine initial donor suitability based on established criteria.
Access and navigate multiple hospital electronic medical record systems.
Provide support for end-of-life decisions regarding donation.
Identify and contact next of kin for potential donors.
Discuss the opportunity of tissue and eye donation with families and obtain authorization.
Provide details about eligible tissues, the recovery process, and the benefits of donation.
Provide informed authorization or disclosure to donor families.
Maintain a high individual authorization rate.
Conduct comprehensive medical and social history interviews with families.
Accurately complete electronic Donor Risk Assessment Interviews.
Communicate with funeral homes as needed.
Collaborate with the Tissue Administrator on Call to determine tissue processor involvement.
Ensure quality guidelines are maintained and donor charts are cleared promptly.
Respond to audit findings and processor requests.
Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as a backup for other specialist roles as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in the clinical healthcare field (LPN, Paramedic, Clinical Health Technician, etc.) or related experience in tissue banking (required).
Minimum 18 months of experience in a Family Support role within the OPO industry (required).
CTBS certification (preferred).
Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Proficient computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple applications simultaneously.
Ability to multitask effectively.
High level of empathy and a commitment to positive outcomes.
Schedule: 12.5-hour shifts, including two weekend shifts and four weekday shifts in a two-week period (day shift: 6:00 am - 6:30 pm; night shift: 6:00 pm - 6:30 am).
