Job Description

The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as an Executive Chef, with proven expertise in French cuisine, menu development, staff management, and maintaining a high-performing kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Management:
    • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
    • Ensure efficient kitchen operations, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
    • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
  • Menu Development:
    • Create and design innovative menus that reflect Cafe Stella's culinary vision, with a focus on French cuisine.
    • Develop and test new recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
    • Adapt menus seasonally, incorporating fresh, local ingredients.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
    • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing to maintain quality and standards.
    • Conduct regular quality checks and audits of food production.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Implement and enforce kitchen policies, procedures, and safety standards.
    • Manage kitchen budgets, including food cost control and waste reduction.
    • Maintain equipment and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
    • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and address customer feedback.
    • Maintain a visible presence during service hours, interacting with guests to gather feedback and enhance their dining experience.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Owner/General Manager to align culinary goals with overall business objectives.
    • Participate in staff meetings, contributing ideas and solutions for continuous improvement.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant or similar establishment.
  • Strong background in French cuisine is highly preferred.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative and innovative approach to menu development.
  • Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
  • Proficient in budgeting, inventory management, and cost control.
