Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented  Spot Market Dispatcher  to manage and coordinate the dispatch of 26-foot box trucks for our transportation operations. This role requires a deep understanding of spot market logistics, efficient route planning, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in dispatching and a strong knowledge of the spot market, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispatch Management: Efficiently assign 26-foot box trucks to meet daily transportation needs, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Spot Market Optimization: Utilize spot market platforms (e.g., load boards) to secure and manage loads, negotiate rates, and maintain profitability.
• Route Planning: Plan and optimize routes based on delivery requirements, driver availability, and traffic conditions to minimize delays and fuel costs.
• Driver Communication: Maintain continuous communication with drivers, offering support, addressing concerns, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Load Coordination: Ensure that all shipments are properly documented and that drivers have the necessary information for loading/unloading, including pickup and delivery locations.
• Problem Solving: Address issues that arise during transit (e.g., delays, breakdowns, accidents), providing timely solutions to ensure minimal disruption.
• Performance Monitoring: Track driver performance, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety regulations, and company protocols.
• Customer Relations: Provide timely updates to customers regarding delivery status, proactively addressing any concerns or delays.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure drivers comply with all relevant transportation regulations (DOT, HOS) and maintain accurate dispatch logs and records.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational improvements and assist with the development of best practices for dispatch operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a dispatcher, preferably within the spot market, managing 26-foot box trucks.
• Strong understanding of the spot market, load boards, and freight negotiation.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage high-pressure situations in a dynamic work environment.
• Proficiency in dispatch software and other relevant tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with dispatching platforms such as Truckstop, DAT, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with ELD systems and transportation management software.
• Prior experience in fleet management or working with 26-foot box trucks.
