Job Description

Are you a passionate and skilled groomer looking to grow your business? We are seeking an experienced groomer to join our busy pet care team on a commission based model.

• Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets, including detangling, dematting or combing out different coat types
• Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, anal glad expression and cleaning their ears.
• Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.
• Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.
• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
• Routinely cleaning work areas.
• Recommending suitable products to pet owners.
• Ability to communicate with owners and recognize non-verbal communication cues in dogs.
• Familiarity with different dog breeds and sizes.
• Understanding of the characteristics and grooming needs of different coat types (e.g., short, long, curly).

Pet Groomer Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Night and weekend availability.
• Professional grooming experience preferred.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to treat all animals with respect through a calm and compassionate demeanor
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and maneuver dogs of all shapes and sizes
• Detail oriented
• Independently motivated, but also able to work in a team atmosphere.
