JOB SUMMARY: Supervises and trains all groundskeeping personnel, assists with sales initiatives, and maintains and monitors the operation of all customers landscaped commercial properties. This role focuses on horticultural excellence to cultivate a visually appealing and welcoming space tailored to customer preference.
Direct Reports: Groundskeeping Personnel (Contracts Division)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in establishing a pipeline of quality sales leads through prospecting.
- Utilizes sales techniques to initiate contact, assess customer needs, and present solutions that generate revenue.
- Oversee and supervise the mowing, edging, planting, pruning, fertilizing and pest management of landscape areas to ensure it meets company standards.
- Ensures proper care and that the grounds are attractive and well-kept by planning work assignments and actively supervising the quality of groundskeeping staff.
- Coordinate and train employees, provide coaching and performance feedback to team members, monitor/approve timecards, manage safety and staff accountability, and set expectations for employees.
- Monitor equipment and ensure appropriate usage and that equipment is in good repair and well-maintained and conduct proactive preventative maintenance activities.
- Ensures quality and timeliness of the groundskeeping team’s work.
- Oversee the operation, handling, and maintenance of mowers, hand tools, and gas powered equipment, ensuring all activities are performed safely and efficiently.
- Document all groundskeeping activities and communicate clearly with management providing status updates and explanations of ongoing work.
- Conduct regular inspections of grounds and facilities to assess property safety and cleanliness standards ensuring compliance and address needs.
- Report malfunction of irrigation, landscape health concerns, and any damage to outdoor hardscape to the facility.
- Attending all required trainings as necessary.
- Review and be familiar with Goodwill of Central Oklahoma safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes. Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- GED or high school diploma preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience as a supervisor managing outdoor groundskeeping, landscaping/horticulture crews that perform multiple tasks, preferred.
- Basic computer and administrative skills are required.
- Must pass OSBI/DOC background check, drug screening.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and personal car insurance.
- Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
- Reliable transportation and communication required.

- This work requires physical stamina and requires the following activities: Standing, walking, twisting, bending, grabbing, and reaching for long periods of time; occasional squatting, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders of stairs to access various areas of the property; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, smelling and visual acuity.
- May be required to push/pull items and reach overhead.
- Must be able to hear to detect sounds indicating potential issues such as machinery noises or alarms.
- The ability to lift 50 pounds, or more with assistance.
- Must be able to operate various maintenance tools safely such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, irrigation equipment and move equipment.
- This position requires flexibility to work onsite, primarily outdoors.
- This is considered a safety sensitive position. No level of impairment from drugs, alcohol or prescription medications will be acceptable while performing the essential functions of this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in an uncontrolled climate and will be exposed to all weather conditions while performing job duties.
- May require working in confined spaces, heights, and potentially hazardous areas.
- Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Works a variable schedule as needed for business operations which may include days, weekends, and holidays as well as overtime when required by management.
- Moderate to high noise exposure due to equipment use and when events occur.
