Overview

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the development, alignment, and execution of the Workforce Development portion of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Higher Education initiative, as well as other Workforce Development projects and initiative that impact leaders and teammates of Advocate Health. Makes recommendations for the development, design, and roll out of programs and initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Participate and provide support for contract management including compliance, reporting, timelines, and project management.
  • Maintain and utilize tracking tools to provide full record of activities, to compile data, and to develop reports. Consults with leadership team to plan and collect data to ensure project success.
  • Participates in meetings, events, symposiums, or initiatives by providing regular updates, identifying challenges, and reporting on a project plan.
  • Leads and actively participates on project teams in the development and implementation of comprehensive programs and change initiatives.
  • Communicates on-going project status, potential issues, and timelines as required.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages all aspects of assigned retrospective, outcome, and prospective projects.
  • Maintains communication as required, to discuss the outcome of any identified opportunities and/or barriers to the successful completion of the project.
  • Provides oversight and guidance for all resources associated with the program.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to identify and apply best practices, recognize recurring issues, problems, and trends that may require a recalibration of policies and practices, and to ensure the highest level of experience and expertise possible.
  • Partners with the Workforce Development leadership team to support long-term strategy development, financial planning, resource allocation, and program management for Workforce Development grant funded activities.

Physical Requirements Work requires typing, filing, use of telephone and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Stretching, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling are required a moderate amount of the time. May lift and carry up to 40 pounds on an intermittent basis. Some standing and walking is required. Must speak and understand English fluently. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and concentrate effectively. Good hearing is required for related communications.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree required. 3 years of related experience required. 2 years of experience in project management, grant management, non-profit managerment, community relations and/or a related field preferred based on role. Familiarity or previous experience with contract management is preferred.
