On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Factory Zero on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Industrial Engineer will work directly with production in implementing lean manufacturing systems. They will analyze throughput data to help departments improve performance. They will be responsible to handle standardized work for future products alongside the core team and help to launch extraordinary products. In steady state, they will drive continuous improvement projects.

What You'll Do:

The main purpose of the Industrial Engineer is to work to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. The position will develop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of supply chain, manufacturing processes and or product quality. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical to your success General Motors.

Develop/validate Material labor studies using Excel based labor software, Flow Planner and AutoCAD.

Develop/update layouts for storage areas, high bay racks, sequence cells and delivery routes.

Providing Supply Chain leadership with labor studies as required.

Work with Supply Chain floor support to validate labor studies.

Keeping Material database up to date with delivery location, using location and Stockman assignments.

Keeping Lean Material Area layout and studies up to date

Develop material labor optimization plans.

Responsible for achieving labor targets.

Responsible for investigating and fixing part routing issues.

Responsible for resolving day-to-day material handling issues.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering

2+ years of Industrial Engineering experience with supply chain background

Previous experience with a time study tool

Previous experience with a flow planner tool

Advanced Microsoft Excel user

Experience with AutoCAD

Must be able to work overtime and weekends, as needed
