We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Assistant Team Lead to join our dynamic legal team. The Legal Assistant Team Lead will play a crucial role in supporting individual lawyers or legal teams by overseeing and managing Legal Assistants, ensuring the efficient preparation and prioritization of legal documents, and maintaining a high standard of work product. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of legal processes.

Requirements Key Responsibilities: Supervision And Leadership - Ensure Legal Assistants are completing task assignments timely and accurately.
- Monitor Legal Assistants' time/adjustments and requests for time off or sick leave.
- Approve time-off requests and ensure proper coverage within the Legal Assistant team.
- Act as a backup for the Legal Assistant team during absences or peak work periods.
- Report concerns or issues to the Operations Manager promptly.
- Provide regular updates on team performance and workload management.
- Monitor Legal Assistants' workload, including dictation amounts, task deadlines, and work quality.
- Provide assistance, intervention, discipline, or corrective actions when necessary.
Document Drafting And Management - Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents based on attorney dictation and instructions.
- Ensure accuracy, editing, and content continuity of legal documents before sending to recipients upon attorney approval.
Case Management - Update and maintain Merus, including contact records, document management, and case information.
- Communicate with clients in person, over the phone, and via email to address inquiries and provide updates.
File Management - Facilitate the closing of files and Statements of Account (SOA).
Required Skills And Qualifications - Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Knowledge of online court filing systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in word processing with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Adherence to regular operating hours is essential, but flexibility may be required on the needs of the business.
Preferred Skills And Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or certification as a legal assistant/paralegal.
- Experience working with multiple lawyers simultaneously.
- Familiarity with dictation and transcription software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 2 + years of managerial experience and the ability to lead a team.
