About the job  

ZeroAvia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Machinist. The ideal candidate will have significant capabilities in CNC/CAM mill and lathe operations, and a solid background in prototyping and fabrication of aerospace components. This includes knowledge of aerospace and quality standards and processes.

Our Machinists work closely with our Engineers to develop the most pragmatic solutions to problems with a bias to action and speed. We value our machinists’ inputs into the development process and expect a high degree of DFM feedback.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency with CNC Mill and Lathe operation and CAM programming
  • Proficiency with all normal machine shop equipment
  • Manual Mill
  • Manual Lathe
  • Vertical and Horizontal Bandsaw
  • Drill Press
  • Shear and Brake
  • All normal hand tools
  • Proficiency with standard inspection equipment and processes
  • Must keep all tools maintained and shop orderly
  • Provide DFM guidance to team members to expedite and improve designs and development
  • Develop and support processes to ensure quality conformity

Requirements

  • CNC machining
  • CAM programming
  • Proficiency with Standard Machine Shop tools
  • Experience with Aerospace Quality and Standards
  • Proficiency in general assembly and fabrication
  • Proficiency with standard inspection equipment and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English (additional languages a plus)
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team
  • Able to travel internationally on occasion
  • Certifications or training in CNC/CAD/CAM

The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $100,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:

  • 📈 Equity:  Ability to exercise company stock options
  • 👵🏽 Retirement:  Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching
  • 👩🏽‍⚕️ Health Insurance: Employer covers up to 80% of the employee's monthly premiums on medical, dental, and vision.
  • 🧬 Life Insurance:  Basic Life/AD&D of up to $50,000 and the option to add on Supplemental Coverage.
  • 💫 Short-Term Disability:  Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks.
  • 🤒 Long-Term Disability:  If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings.
  • 🏖️ Paid Time Off:  Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).
  • 🩺 Sick Time: Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
  • 🏖️ Paid Holidays: 12 observed holidays, per calendar year.
  • 🛩️ The Fly Club: up to $2,000 of reimbursement towards flying lessons to all full-time staff
