The Pipefitter is responsible for comprehending and utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, and work process instructions in order to measure, cut, thread and bend pipe (of multiple material types) to required shape using hand and power tools. This position must also have the ability to install prepared pipe into systems. This role reports directly to the Lead man or Foreman as assigned.

Work Environment:
This job operates inside and aboard ships both offshore and onshore as well as confined spaces. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE when required. Visits may require standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary depending on schedule and job contract. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
