Position Summary

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications and marketing initiatives to enhance the visibility, engagement, and reputation of the organization. This role is central to the promotion of exhibitions, programs, fundraising efforts, and institutional messaging across all channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning - Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication plans that align with organizational goals. - Create and manage content calendars and timelines for marketing campaigns. - Set measurable objectives and evaluate marketing effectiveness through KPIs.
  • Content Creation & Management - Write, edit, and produce compelling content for newsletters, brochures, social media, press releases, and web pages. - Ensure consistency of voice and tone across platforms. - Manage design and production of collateral materials, working with graphic designers as needed.
  • Digital Marketing & Social Media - Oversee email marketing and social media strategy, content development, and community management. - Optimize website content for SEO and manage updates through the CMS. - Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights) to monitor performance and guide improvements.
  • Public & Media Relations - Maintain media contact lists and cultivate media relationships. - Coordinate press outreach, media coverage, and press event logistics. - Respond to media inquiries and manage crisis communications when needed.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Support - Work closely with Development, Education, and Programming departments to support initiatives. - Coordinate promotional efforts for exhibitions, performances, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Brand Stewardship - Ensure consistent and appropriate use of visual identity and messaging. - Uphold brand guidelines across all external and internal communications.

Qualifications

?      Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field; master’s degree a plus.
?      3–5+ years of relevant experience in marketing or communications, preferably in a nonprofit or cultural institution.
?      Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
?      Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
?      Proficiency with email marketing tools, social media platforms, website CMS (e.g., WordPress), and Google Analytics.
?      Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva for basic design work.
?      Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Working Conditions

?      Occasional evening and weekend work required for events and exhibition openings.
