Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

 

Job Description
The Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring facility and coworker safety through managed compliance with OSHA, PSM, and EPA Risk Management Plan requirements. Ensuring compliance through maintaining documentation, training, and equipment/system requirements will be a direct responsibility. A sound understanding of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems is essential to establish the proper context for the application of process safety management.

The PSM Coordinator is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a management system that results in satisfaction of the 14 elements of OSHA's PSM program. The system should result in continual improvement of the program and a safe workplace.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Ensure facility safety through compliance with OSHA, PSM, and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP)
• Oversee and manage compliance of all aspects of PSM programs.
• Guide and oversee specific PSM process items such as PHA, MOC, PSSR, and incident investigation.
• Maintain proper documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• Evaluate ammonia systems, facilities, and PSM program for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Conduct regularly scheduled PSM meetings and updates to management.
• Support and participate in safety, ammonia, or other PSM related audits.
• Assist in managing Hot Work Program and Emergency Action Plan
• Provide guidance and assistance to Ammonia Maintenance Team as needed.
• Coordinate associated ammonia best practices across the plant and facilitate continuous improvement.

 

Expected Experience & Required Skills

• Associate in safety management related field, Process Safety Management certification, or equivalent work experience with ability to obtain certification.
• 3-5 years working experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and associated PSM requirements is preferred.
• An in-depth understanding of both process safety principles and PSM regulations is preferred.
• RETA CIRO, CARO, OSHA certifications, or ammonia PSM certifications are highly desired, ability to obtain.
• Knowledge and experience in general industry safety regulations is a bonus.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience with APSM and AutoCAD is highly desired.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills to function as a team member and leader.
• Individual should have strong analytical and organizational skills, be detail oriented, self-motivated, and possess good leadership skills.

 

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Additionally, this role requires to work 1st shift hours and occasional overtime and weekends. Open to discuss flexibility.

 

Physical Qualifications: Stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch and occasional transporting heavy objects, lift carry up to 30lbs., pushing, pulling, scaling heights, accessing high objects, accessing low objects, keyboard or text input, balancing, fine movement, repetitive motion.
