Job Description:
Venge Vineyards is seeking an energetic self-starter, with a positive attitude to join our Direct Sales team. Candidate must have a strong work ethic, and solution-based approach to customer service, as well as a friendly, outgoing personality to host diverse guests in a private and personal tasting. The ideal candidate has hospitality and sales experience, with wine knowledge and a proven track record with luxury wines.
Position Opportunity and Summary:
The primary focus for the Venge Winery Direct Sales Associate is the Venge tasting salon experience, showcasing our wines in a manner that is friendly and knowledgeable. Tastings in our Ranch House are private, by appointment only and include guests that are wine seasoned, savvy collectors, and long-time Venge Wine Guild loyalists. The knack for engaging customers to enrich their tasting experience while educating, promoting and selling Venge wines is a must. Passion for food and wine go hand-and-hand with our team driven culture. We are selling award-winning wines in a fun, beautiful atmosphere, while creating a unique and unforgettable experience for our guests who become Venge loyalists. Many of our referrals are from other guests.
Job priorities:
Greeting, educating and showcasing Venge wines in an enthusiastic way resulting in sales, and future ambassadors.
Focusing the guest experience on Venge wines, to share our story through the wines, our wine-making philosophy and style to create that top-of-mind experience deserving of viral referrals.
Engaging in a team-oriented culture by where all team members are equal, and helpful to one another in support of each other to achieve personal sales and winery goals. In this small winery environment, it is necessary to do any job required to be among a successful team with the collective attitude that no job is too large or small.
Practicing excellent guided customer service and to support direct sales goals to create retention among our customers. This includes but is not limited to answering and fielding phone calls, scheduling guest visits, updating customer accounts and credentials, and managing customer requests.
Helping to fulfill carry-out orders and facilitating shipping orders through each step of the sale. Following up and tracking orders when necessary.
Core Competencies and Skills:
Minimum 3 years Hospitality experience in wineries and experience with luxury brands a plus
Experience with Ecommerce and data entry ideal
Team-oriented individual with a friendly attitude and positive “can do” outlook. Must display professional demeanor and appearance
Must have attention to detail, punctuality, and organization
Track record of successful employment with character and work referrals
Track record of sales goals and accomplishments
Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be available to work full-time Wednesday through Sunday
Venge benefits of Employment:
Earnings based on competitive hourly wage, plus commission on wine sales
Average yearly commissions range from $11,000 to $14,000 per year in addition to hourly base pay
