As the Workers’ Compensation and Liability Specialist you will manage and process the claims related to workplace injuries and accidents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and facilitating a smooth return to work for injured employees. You will act as the liaison between various stakeholders, including employees, employers, insurance carriers, and medical providers. This person will play a crucial role in managing the complexities of workplace injuries and accidents, ensuring both employees and employers are treated fairly and in accordance with the law.
Requirements
Claim Management
Investigating and processing workers' compensation and liability claims.
Determining eligibility for benefits and compensability.
Coordinating medical treatment and return-to-work plans.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation of claims.
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Communication and Liaison
Providing guidance and support to employees, supervisors, field management, and other stakeholders regarding workers’ compensation and liability matters.
Communicating with insurance carriers, medical providers, and legal counsel.
Facilitating communication between parties to resolve claims and disputes.
Policy and Procedure Development
Developing and recommending policies and procedures related to workers’ compensation and liability.
Participating in the development of return-to-work programs.
Conducting training and workshops on workers' compensation and liability issues.
Risk Management
Identifying and assessing potential risks related to workplace injuries and accidents.
Recommending and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and prevent future claims.
Analyzing claim data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Skills
Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and regulations.
