Sr. Data Engineer - 3 Month Contract

Position Overview

Based in Boston, we are an established, growing EdTech SaaS company. We are seeking a skilled Sr. Data Engineer for a 3-month contract position to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data pipelines and systems to support our analytics and data warehousing initiatives. This role requires a strong background in ETL processes and experience with various AWS services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL data pipelines to efficiently process and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Implement and manage data storage solutions using RDBMS (Postgres) and data warehouses (Redshift) and data lakes.
• Utilize AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Firehose, and SQS to automate and streamline data workflows.
• Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Optimize existing data processes and troubleshoot performance issues using tools like Spark and Airflow.
• Ensure data integrity and security throughout the data lifecycle.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in ETL processes and data pipeline construction.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with RDBMS systems, particularly Postgres.
• Experience with data warehouses and data lakes, specifically AWS Redshift and Glue.
• Proficient in AWS pipeline services including Firehose, SQS, and Lambda.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with big data technologies like Spark and Snowflake.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
