Development Manager

Full-Time

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) seeks a passionate and detail-oriented Development Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing our mission of marine research, rescue, and education. This position is integral to the success of CCS's fundraising efforts, including the endowment campaign, annual giving, and special initiatives such as our 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Endowment Campaign: 

  • Under the Director of Development, provide administrative and logistical coordination of all aspects of the endowment campaign, including collaboration with consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute campaign events and meetings.
  • Develop and produce campaign materials that align with CCS branding and messaging.
  • Partner with the CCS Development Specialist to effectively manage and utilize donor data, ensure accurate reporting, and track campaign progress.
  • Track progress and maintain detailed records related to campaign activities and donor engagement.
  • Initiate and coordinate cultivation and stewardship activities for endowment giving.

Annual Giving: Assume responsibility for specific aspects of CCS' annual giving efforts, including but not limited to:

Planned Giving Campaign:

  • Oversee the planned giving campaign in collaboration with consultants.
  • Oversee production of planned giving outreach materials.
  • Develop outreach strategies to engage and cultivate individuals identified as planned giving candidates.
  • Manage all administrative aspects of the campaign, including record-keeping and reporting.

CCS Sponsors Program:

  • Build relationships with the business community to secure sponsorships that support CCS’ mission and programs.
  • Conduct outreach and maintain ongoing communication with sponsors.
  • Administer sponsorship benefits and recognition initiatives.

Support CCS Annual Giving and 50th Anniversary Celebration Efforts:

  • Provide organizational and logistical support for CCS’s annual fundraising events.
  • Participate in cultivation and stewardship activities for annual giving.
  • Support and coordinate the 50th Anniversary Planning Committee and its activities.
  • Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive 50th anniversary campaign, including fundraising initiatives, events, and promotional materials.
  • Engage donors and sponsors to support the CCS 50th anniversary celebrations and goals.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for some Board of Directors activities.

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • Significant background in nonprofit development, fundraising, events planning, or a similar role.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate team projects while effectively handling multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with internet research, email communication, office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, and design and marketing platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in producing print and digital development and outreach materials.
  • Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with the Development Team, Board of Directors, and various stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Event planning and coordination experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with donor databases and virtual communication platforms.

Compensation Range $65,000 - $75,000 with a generous time off and benefits package.

A flexible/hybrid work schedule is negotiable. Some weekends, evenings, and travel may be required for events and outreach activities.
